Charlotte Tanis

I am a PhD candidate with Dora Matzke and Eric-Jan Wagenmakers at the Psychological Methods Unit of the University of Amsterdam.

My research centers around formal mathematical models for cognitive control and decision making. Specifically, I focus on race models to measure inhibition, and pedestrian models to describe and estimate people flows. I aim to work on topics and projects that have a direct societal link. Therefore, in addition to my PhD topic, I co-founded Science versus Corona in March 2020, and helped develop a framework using contact networks to determine the effectiveness of behavioural interventions on physical distancing and applied this framework in several large-scale experiments.
